Bulgaria’s national mini football team continues to perform miracles and conquer the world stage.
Our boys defeated the homeland of football England 2:1 at the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and qualified for the quarter-finals.
Success came very hard, although the Bulgarian team was apparently the classier and with many more scoring chances.
We took the lead in the 19th minute with a goal by Yavor Genchev, who shot between many players.
Ours kept their lead for a long time, but a bad chance led to an equalizer for England in the 40th minute. Morgan-Griffiths was awarded a technical back-heel after a strong execution of a direct free-kick by his team-mate.
However, Bulgaria quickly regained their lead after being awarded a penalty. She was adjudged for playing with the hand of one of the Englishmen, who stopped a shot at the goal. Nedelian Kostadinov was accurate from the penalty spot.
Thus, our team is in the quarterfinals, where they will play with the Azerbaijan team. The Azeri beat Portugal 3-0 earlier today.
We remind you that earlier this year Bulgaria came third at the European Championship.
