Journalist Ivaylo Tsvetkov-Noyzi has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He spent some time in custody and was released on BGN 15,000 bail.
Tsvetkov was stopped for a check early Friday morning in the area of the capital’s “Dragalevtsi” neighborhood while driving on the Ring Road. The dereger showed 2.12 parts per million of alcohol.
In such cases, detention is usually for 24 hours. In this case, a criminal case has been opened, because driving with more than 1.2 per thousand is a crime. Tsvetkov cooperated with the investigation, the prosecutor’s office reported. He has given a blood sample, the results of which are awaited.
The journalist’s car was confiscated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is possible because of the corrections in NK from the summer. They provide for confiscation of the vehicle if the driver is found guilty.
