The heads of the Water Supply and Sewerage – Sofia and Plovdiv have been removed due to accumulated obligations, the regional ministry reports.

Eng. Rositsa Itova takes over the management of the BGN 25 million indebted “ViK” EOOD – Sofia. The decision on the change in the management of the operator, which provides services on the territory of Sofia region, is made by the Board of Directors of “Bulgarian Water and Wastewater Holding” EAD.

The motive – poor financial results. The company is one of the most indebted of the holding structure. As “the negative financial result deepens drastically” in the period in which engineer Ivan Ivanov is at the helm.

As of September 30, 2023, “ViK” EOOD – Sofia reports an uncovered loss in the amount of BGN 25.1 million, which is over 35% more compared to the uncovered loss of BGN 18.1 million. to the same period last year, the announcement states. For the first nine months of this year, the current loss is in the amount of BGN 2.2 million.

Itova is a plumbing engineer with many years of experience at “ViV” EOOD – Sofia and one of the specialists established with his expertise in the sector, the ministry said in its announcement. She worked at the waterworks operator from 2000 to February 2023, and for the last 4 years she was the company’s chief engineer. Eng. Itova submitted her documents for entry in the Commercial Register. Rositsa Itova is a construction engineer in water supply and sewerage from VIAS with a postgraduate qualification in economics and management of the water supply sector from UNSS.

The reason for the reshuffle in VK – Plovdiv is also the “unsatisfactory financial management in the last two years, which led to the uncovered loss of the company as of September 30 in the amount of over BGN 16 million”. There, the long-time chief engineer of the operator – Eng. Anton Galabov – takes over the management.
