Boris Bonev will be nominated for the third time by PP-DB – “Save Sofia” as the chairman of SOS – Bulgaria

For the third time, Boris Bonev will be nominated as the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council by PP-DB – “Save Sofia”. This was announced by the municipal councilor from PP-DB-SS Andrey Zografski to BNT.

Bonev: We will not negotiate a coalition with GERB

“With this fragmented municipal council, it is not a surprise that for the second time it was not possible to elect a chairman. Only 2 weeks have passed since the elections, probably the emotion in some political entities has not yet passed. Our request was and we still comply with it that we will not rule with GERB – neither hidden nor open. However, we expect that they will support us for the election of the chairman. Boris Bonev is equally distant from all political entities that are represented at the national level. He received almost 25,000 personal preferences, which clearly shows the support of the citizens for him. His criticism of GERB has always been justified. On the other hand, we did not see any arguments against our candidate,” said Andrei Zografski.

The Metropolitan Municipal Council did not elect a chairman again

“The solution is definitely in the first political force and it must find the formula to solve the specific case. We will participate in the conversations and talk about policies, we will look for common points. The personality must be in the background. The question is this president what policies will he undertake”, specified Enyo Savov – municipal councilor from MK “BSP for Bulgaria”.

“The decision of “Vazrazhdane” is to support our candidate. I’m getting deja vu. What happened in the National Assembly 6-7 months ago is happening now in the municipal council. Most likely, the resolution will be this way – to transfer the assembly from the national to the local level. At the moment, what GERB is doing is twisting the arms of PP-DB – “Save Sofia” in terms of showing them that they cannot do without them. We cannot support either one or the other. Discussions about policies in Sofia should be pragmatic, but this is not happening,” commented Deyan Nikolov, municipal councilor from “Vazrazhdane”.
