The Liverpool team beat Fulham 3:1 away in a match of the 34th round of the Premier League. The Merseysiders took the lead in the 32nd minute after Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a beautiful goal from a free-kick. At the end of the first half, however, Timothy Kastan equalized for the hosts.
In the second half, Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota scored for Liverpool’s success. Thus, the team led by Jurgen Klopp equaled the leader Arsenal on points. The two teams have 74 points each, and the “Arillerists” have a better goal difference. Manchester City is third with a point less, but also a match passive.
In the third minute of the match, Trent sent a good cross that was intercepted by Luis Diaz. However, the Colombian’s header went wide of the target. In the 11th minute, Gravenberch sent an excellent lead pass to Diaz, who, however, was overtaken by the advancing Leno.
In the 32nd minute, Liverpool took the lead after Trent Alexander-Arnold scored from a free kick with a wonderful shot.
Two minutes later, Gakpo made a precise pass, sliced through the Fulham defense and finished with a shot that was saved by Bernd Leno.
Anthony Robinson broke well down the left flank before finding Rodrigo Muniz in the Merseysiders’ box. The Brazilian striker stopped the ball on his chest, then shot, but disappointingly. The ball flew high over Alisson’s goal.
In the 41st minute, Palinha stole the ball from Edno and the home team went on the attack. Iwobi returned to the Portuguese, who in turn found Muniz. He finished with a shot into the near corner, which the Liverpool keeper handled with no problems.
In the extra time of the first part, Timothy Kastan equalized. There was a mix-up in the visitors’ penalty area, with Muniz’s header blocked by Cuanza. After that, the ball reached the Belgian, who made no mistake, but sent it into the net for 1:1.
In the 51st minute, Klopp’s men combined well and the attack was completed by Harvey Elliott’s strike from the edge of the penalty area. However, his ground shot was not accurate.
Two minutes later, Ryan Gravenberch received a pass from Elliott, turned and fired an unsaveable right-footed shot. The ball went past Leno and the Merseysiders went ahead again in the result.
In the 60th minute, Jota got to a ball in the Cottagers penalty area and fired into the near corner. The home keeper had positioned himself well and made the save.
Eight minutes later, Robertson laid on Cody Gakpo, who broke into the Fulham box. The Dutchman then landed a powerful shot on the ground, which, however, did not trouble Leno.
In the 73rd minute, Jota was brought off by Gakpo. The Portuguese advanced, and then overcame the hosts’ guard. Leno got to the ball but couldn’t clear it. The hit was examined by VAR for an ambush, but there was none.
At the end of normal time, Tom Kearney shot on the ground and Alisson cleared. Rodrigo Muniz then flicked the ball over, but from a narrow angle he was unable to send it into the Liverpool goal.
In the added time of the match, Salah received in the penalty area of the home team and immediately shot with his left foot on the ground. However, the ball went wide of the Fulham goal.
