The leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, is seriously ill. Now the Kremlin is considering who will replace him in case of death or incapacity for health reasons, reports “Novaya Gazeta – Europe”.

The material emphasizes that in 2019, doctors diagnosed Kadyrov with pancreatic necrosis for the first time. Then the Chechen leader did not hide that he was forced to go on vacation due to “temporary incapacity” and he himself explained his vacation with health problems.

“Just recently, I made a two-day inspection trip high in the mountains. In the conditions of snowfall and strong wind, I caught a cold. Afterwards, I had a fever and flu… Praise be to Allah, my body is strong, I was given intravenous injections for only two days, now everything is fine Kadyrov announced then.

His explanations then seemed meaningless, since a “common cold” is not treated with drops. Then anonymous channels reported on Kadyrov’s poisoning. After that, the Chechen leader’s health problems only worsened. He lost a lot of weight in 2019. The sharp weight loss is the first symptom of actively developing, painful and difficult to treat pancreatic necrosis.

In the spring of 2022, Kadyrov’s health began to deteriorate rapidly, but this topic became a top topic only last year. Due to kidney failure and fluid retention in the lungs, Kadyrov literally “increased” by one and a half times. The shape of his abdomen acquired all the signs of pancreatogenic ascites, he developed terrible shortness of breath, it became difficult for him to speak, he walked slowly and dressed too warm for the Chechen climate, claims the publication cited by “Focus”.

Most importantly, Kadyrov disappeared at the most crucial moments. True, the Kremlin sometimes forced him to appear in public, the editors add. “Kadyrov was admitted to the hospital last September with acute lung failure, which developed as a result of an overdose of the tranquilizer Dormicum, which is usually used to calm patients before surgery,” the publication said, citing its sources among Kremlin doctors.

Then the medics announced that Kadyrov was in a coma. The Chechen elite provoked an information tsunami. Kadyrov was very weak and could not quickly appear in public to dispel these rumours. Officially, the media reported that Kadyrov was “on a business trip”.

Doctors managed to partially restore the “vip patient’s” capacity. However, according to a source at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Russian Federation, during a general examination, data from a nuclear magnetic resonance of the brain were obtained, the results of which “left Kadyrov’s relatives in depressed state’.

A source close to Kadyrov interpreted the family’s reaction to the doctors’ inexorable diagnosis as follows: “The former leader will no longer exist, [новата] disease will affect seriously […]. Even if he recovers now, he will no longer be alive or dead…”.

In the event of Kadyrov’s death or loss of legal capacity, Apti Alaudinov could become the leader of Chechnya. Now he leads the “Akhmat” special forces. The handsome Chechen general feels confident on stage, possesses oratorical skills and wins sympathy among the elite, the publication assures.
