“At the moment, I am only nominated as an MEP, but I am not part of the list of MEPs from the DPS”. This is what the MEP currently from the BSP, Elena Yoncheva, told BTV about her nomination for a new mandate from the DPS.

She has not built a relationship of trust with Delyan Peevski on a personal level, but the trust is in her work. “My job is the best guarantee that I do my job well,” Yoncheva said. She complained that she had been sabotaged by BSP leader Cornelia Ninova in her work in the European Parliament.

Yoncheva said that if GERB had offered her a new mandate as an MEP, she would not have accepted.

She explained that she accepted the nomination as recognition for a job well done for Bulgaria. I have a serious breakthrough on a number of topics, she boasted, and promised to continue working on all topics for Bulgaria, if she finds support and complete freedom to defend the causes she has taken up – the migration pact.

“Mr. Peevski called me and invited me to a meeting in the building of the National Assembly. In the European Parliament, I work very well with the MPs from the DPS – with Ilhan Kyuchuk, and together we work on topics important for Bulgaria,” said Elena Yoncheva. During her meeting with Peevski, they discussed migration, channeling and the Anti-Corruption Law.
