The Bulgarian Professional Football League informs the football clubs in Bulgaria that the National Assembly adopted amendments and additions to the Law on Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria, which solve a series of problems with hiring labor from countries outside the European Union. These changes significantly facilitate the procedure for carding foreign footballers, informs the BPFL.
This puts an end to the slow and cumbersome procedure for issuing work visas to footballers from outside the EU. The problem was repeatedly put on the agenda during the meetings between the BPFL and the football clubs. Until now, the current legislation effectively prevented clubs from using newly recruited players without European passports for months, while at the same time having to pay salaries.
The proposals in the National Assembly were introduced by Manoil Manev and Temenuzka Petkova from the GERB-SDS parliamentary group, and the chairman of the Commission for Tourism Erten Anisova and the former Minister of Sports Krasen Kralev, who once again showed his love for sports, also have the main merit.
The Bulgarian Parliament reacted extremely quickly and moved all procedures within just 3 days.
The Bulgarian Professional Football League also congratulates its colleagues from the tourism industry, for whom the changes in the law will practically save the season, as they will solve the problem of missing personnel.
