Zhelyazkov for his suspension in the National Assembly: Unnecessary demonstration and revenge

--

“Perhaps until later yesterday evening there was some bitterness, perhaps this is a perfectly normal human reaction to the experiencebut in politics one must quickly shake off a personal attitude to political processes. Ambition, pride, ego are not good advisors for any politician, especially when it’s not about personal matters.”

This was stated by Rosen Zhelyazkov in “Panorama” on BNT, removed as Speaker of the National Assembly.

“Yesterday’s decision is part of the political process that has gained enough momentum in recent months and resulted in the regular government not being able to continue its work, until we go to elections once again. I don’t know at all whether this denouement was the point, whether it was the epilogue. It was some kind of unnecessary demonstration, and if for the opposition in the form of BSP, ITN, Vazrazhdane, it was part of normal political behavior,” he said.

Regarding his former partners, he said “it was a revenge, a desire for punishment or something like that”. In his words, the political consequences will have a dimension in the election campaign, and “probably also after”.

Zhelyazkov pointed out that the request for his removal was a “compilation of motives of the opposition parties.

“This may have been a consequence of the failed rotation”.

The changes in the Constitution turned the parliament into an election campaign ground

The former Speaker of the National Assembly said that at the beginning of the year the complex process of relationships began of the seemingly easy rotation.

“This process began with a conversation about whose mandate the rotation will be carried out, it went through the subject of Mr. Denkov – foreign minister, it came to the Memorandum. It went through Boyko Borisov’s proposal that this government continue its work without any change. And then came this surprise resignation, which is now presented as a promise kept, but it was a tactical move,” he recalled.

Zhelyazkov added that this is how we arrive at the “natural end of this engorged a mistrust that was never really overcome”.

Rosen Zhelyazkov fell with 129 votes

The former chairman: Sometimes the actors climb the scaffold

We remind you that on Thursday Zhelyazkov fell from the post with 129 “yes” votes. The debate had previously been heated.

For his resignation were 61 MPs from PP-DB, 34 from “Vazrazhdane”, 23 from BSP, 10 from ITN and one independent, 103 MPs voted against – from GERB and DPS.

Rosen himself Zhelyazkov took the floor and refused to defend himself. Sometimes you have to be quiet to be heard, he said. We are all people, sent by other people to work for people and conspiracies about the humanity that politicians often lose.

In the 47th National Assembly in a similar way, Nikola Minchev was removed from the post of chairman – the proposal for this was submitted by “There is such a people” with a formal occasion. Then, a total of 125 deputies from GERB-SDS, ITN, DPS and “Vazrazhdane” voted for Minchev’s ouster, and this could be interpreted as a dress rehearsal for the vote of no confidence in Kiril Petkov’s cabinet.
