The company said there were maintenance issues with the turbine and would not resume operations until they were fixed

“Gazprom” stopped “Nord Stream” completely, surprisingly not even specifying a date on which it will resume its work.

“Gazprom has completely shut down the Nord Stream gas pipeline following the results of routine maintenance, until all defects in the operation of the equipment are removed,” Russian media reported, citing a company statement.

It states that a letter was sent to Siemens Energy AG President and CEO Christian Bruch “regarding identified errors and the need to correct them.” “Until the issues with the operation of the equipment are resolved, the transportation of gas to the Nord Stream gas pipeline has been completely stopped,” the message says.

The pipeline was scheduled to return to pumping gas on Saturday, September 3. Now, however, the company’s announcement does not indicate the expected date for the resumption of Nord Stream’s work.

Since August 31, “Nord Stream” has been stopped in order to repair the only remaining gas pumping unit at the Portovaya compressor station. According to Gazprom, violations were discovered during the maintenance of the turbine. According to Rostechnadzor, the gas pipeline cannot operate safely until they are eliminated.
