12 were admitted to hospital for treatment
65 students from Plovdiv are suspected of food poisoning. 12 of the children – aged between 10 and 16 years old – were admitted to an infectious disease clinic with severe stomach pains, vomiting and upset stomach. The students are from the “Vasil Levski” sports school. In this case, an urgent investigation has begun, which should establish whether it is food poisoning, or if the problem is something else. A total of 194 children had lunch and dinner in the chair of the sports school in Plovdiv on Tuesday.
“Around 17.00-18.00 after dinner some of them got vomiting and upset. They were brought here and treatment started. They consumed kebab and pork with cabbage,” explained Prof. Ivan Baltajiev, deputy head of the Infectious Diseases Clinic at the “St. George”.
