The coach of Lokomotiv Plovdiv – Aleksandar Tomas, remained of the opinion that his team should be happy to have earned a point after the “Smurfs” were totally outplayed in the city derby against Botev, which ended 0:0 at the “College”.
“We have to be happy that we got a point. It’s a derby, it has nothing to do with the other games. For me, this is the fourth derby, I can see the euphoria of the fans and players during the week. The atmosphere in the stadium maybe influenced us. In the middle of the season, we have a short bench. We have a lot of things to justify ourselves with,” Tomas began.
“When you can’t win a game, it’s important not to lose it. We did it bravely for our fans, maybe ugly. Our defender’s first situation cannot be a yellow card in the week minute. I’m sorry we didn’t win at their stadium, but maybe we got a point. We lost a lot of duels. Every second pass was wrong for us,” he continued.
“We have built a style and a way of playing that every team can adapt to. It is not easy to resist every single match and get out of this press that is against you. The thing I’m unhappy about is that you need rotations, but to make rotations you need footballers. We courageously defended the honor of the “black and white” part of Plovdiv”, added the coach of Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
“Against all the teams we played against, they take out the two outsiders and the central striker and bring in new ones, it can’t be just a few new players. Leo Senna is the group to be with the boys, he is injured and can’t enter, Toshko Pavlov too. We didn’t impose our way of playing, but there are certain factors for that,” Tomas added.
“It’s quite difficult, it’s not just my credit, but the psychology, the management. When agents call you and tell you where you got offers from, it can’t help but affect you. On the green field, no one will ask you what offers you have. On the green field you have to show yourself to eat white bread.”
“We are not making a tragedy. This streak of nine consecutive victories is thanks to the players, it is not easy. I am convinced that the fans are proud of the footballers,” concluded Tomasz.
