The Hungarian national team crushed Montenegro’s dreams of qualifying for UEFA EURO 2024 and the “Hungarians” turned from 0:1 to 3:1 their opponent at home in Budapest. The Montenegrins needed to win on the road and hope Bulgaria beat Serbia away, but neither of those things happened and it was the Hungarians and the Serbians who went from Group G to the group stage.
With two goals in the second half, home captain Dominik Soboslay returned a goal pass scored by Slobodan Rubejic, and the third goal came from Adam Nagy late in the match.
Immediately after the final whistle, the Hungarian party started at the stadium, after the “Hungarians” guaranteed themselves a place in the finals already with the draw – 2:2, with Bulgaria in Sofia, but now everything happened in front of their supporters. Dominik Soboslay went among the fans in the stands and was handed a shot of palinka from somewhere. The drink is traditional for his homeland, as an analogy can be made with Bulgarian brandy, and the Liverpool star did not hesitate and drank it in one go.
The Hungarian press claims that coach Marco Rossi organized a special dinner for his players, who then partied at a popular bar in Budapest after sending their country to the group stage of the matches in Germany.
