Bulgarian pop star Veselin Marinov revealed an interesting incident from almost 30 years ago.
Known for his love of football, the ladies’ man has admitted that he almost jumped on the bandwagon for the national football team.
Marinov was furious because of criticism of our team at the World Cup in the USA in 1994, which came after the 0:3 loss to Nigeria at the start.
“I was on vacation in Sozopol. I had a fight with a guy. I had a hard time going through it without a bit of a fight. I was so affected by his words that we felt that way, we deserved to lose, etc.,” the singer said to New TV.
Vesco Marinov also commented on other more current topics related to local football, including the clashes between fans and the police in Sofia a few days ago.

“It’s better that they decided to have the match with Hungary without an audience. If they had let them into the stadium, it would have been scarier,” said Marinov.
“I’ve always loved football, but in recent years I’ve been following the Bulgarian championship in particular. It’s become very interesting and that’s why I watch it,” comments the singer.
Marinov said that he does not accept criticism of the current leadership of the BFS, as he accepts the participants of the World Cup in the USA ’94 – Borislav Mihailov, Yordan Lechkov and Emil Kostadinov – as heroes.
“These guys made us feel proud for a month and I will never forget that,” commented Marinov.
The pop star admitted he cried with joy after Kostadinov’s goal at Parc des Princes in the 2-1 win over France.
“Only I know what I experienced. People were on the streets,” said Marinov.
