Bulgarian pilot Nikola Tsolov needs BGN 196,000 to continue his career in Formula 3. He is collecting the funds on an online platform, and so far a little over BGN 27,000 has been donated. The campaign will continue until January 31, 2024.
Until now, Tsolov has been financially supported by his family and sponsors, but for the next season he needs a larger amount for equipment, training, as well as fees and expenses for each competition.
At only 16 years old, Tsolov competed in Formula 3, making him the first Bulgarian to reach this level in the history of motor sports in Bulgaria. He is the Spanish Formula 4 champion for 2022, where he recorded 13 wins, 18 podiums and 17 fastest laps from 21 starts and collected a record 400 points. The first chosen to be supported in his career by A14 Maganement, the newly formed management company of Formula 1 legend Fernando Alonso.
Tsolov is the third-youngest driver in the world to score points in Formula 3 in his debut season and one of eight drivers selected for the Alpin Academy. In 2023, Nikola Tsolov made a huge leap in his career by debuting in Formula 3. It was a tough season, and whether you have experience or not makes a huge difference. However, he scored points and two Top 10 entries in recent races.
In 2024, Nicola will add another year as a member of Formula 3 to his portfolio, with his ambitions aimed at taking the top positions in the FIA championship. One of the main challenges before him is collecting enough funds so that he can continue to present himself, our country at the world level and pursue his big dream – to be the first Bulgarian driver in Formula 1.
Money is needed for: equipment, training and practice sessions, fees and expenses for each competition.
“The Bulgarian’s career and path is financed by his family, which puts all their funds, efforts and time behind him and is looking for various sponsors. The sponsors already contribute a significant amount, but it is not enough to secure Nikola Tsolov’s place in the grid of Formula 3 in 2024. Since many people are interested in how they can help financially with an amount that is stronger for them, Nicolas and his family decided that it is time to give a chance to all friends, fans, like-minded motorsports lovers and to the ambitious, goal-oriented young people to support him with this campaign. At least 100,000 more euros are needed, which we believe we will be able to raise, following the Bulgarian proverb “Drop by drop – a whirlpool becomes”. Every amount raised will be invested in the racing career of Nikola Tsolov,” said the official announcement of the online fundraising platform.
