The Sacramento Kings lost for the first time in their six-game NBA streak.
The Kings lost a tough 93:129 to the New Orleans Pelicans, and it happened in the absence of hometown star Alexander Vezenkov.
The Bulgarian was not at all in the group for the fight that night because of a problem with his left thumb.
According to reports on social media, the sprained thumb was sustained during the fancy umbrella that Vezenkov made during the game against the Dallas Mavericks yesterday.
This was the first meeting since the beginning of the season that Alexander Vezenkov missed.
Otherwise, his teammates missed a huge chance to win a seventh in a row for the first time in 20 years after crashing badly in New Orleans.
The Kings started the match stronger and won the first part with 31:29, and in the middle of the second they continued to have a lead with a score of 47:43.
But then came a run of 13 consecutive points for New Orleans, and the hosts did not let go of the lead until the very end.
At halftime, the Pelicans led by 13 points, at the end of the third quarter the lead was 31 points to reach the final 129:93.
In the Western Conference standings, the Sacramento Kings team is fourth in the standings with eight wins and five losses from a total of 13 games.
The team’s next game is in two days again against the New Orleans Pelicans, and the hopes are that this time we will see Vezenkov on the field.
