The Czech Republic beat Moldova 3-0 in a classic 3-0 and qualified for UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany. The Czechs even finished the qualifying tournament in Group E level on points with leaders Albania, and only a negative head-to-head balance left them in second place.
However, after the end of the meeting, everyone in the country was burned by the decision of the selector Yaroslav Shilhavi, who has submitted his resignation, confirmed by the national team. The management of the Czech Football Federation seems to have accepted this decision. The good news is that they have enough time to find a new coach to prepare the team for the forum in Germany next year.
The 62-year-old Shilhavi took over in September 2018 and in that period recorded 26 wins, 10 draws and 20 defeats, also qualifying the Czech Republic at the previous European Championship and missing out on a place at the World Cup in Qatar last year.
