Rafa Nadal continues to train at full speed in Madrid. The former #1 was in great spirits during his session on Sunday and worked at a high intensity.

It was indicative of Nadal’s good condition that he was serving during the training session – at that, apparently, as close to optimal as possible.

It was the inability to serve that was a huge problem in Rafa’s return, with since Brisbane at the start of the year, problems with his passing had stopped him from making an earlier return.

Matadora appears to be in no pain on serve and ready to play.

For Nadal, this will be his first appearance at the Madrid Open since 2022. He then eliminated Miomir Kecsmanovic and David Goffen, but lost to future champion Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals. The “Glue King” is a five-time champion in Madrid, with his last trophy coming in 2017 when he beat Dominic Thiem 7-6(8), 6-4 in the final.

This year’s edition of the Madrid Masters tournament will take place from April 24 to May 5. The draw for the main draw will be drawn on Monday (April 22) at 12:00 p.m. Bulgarian time.
