Botev Plovdiv coach Dusan Kerkez speaks after the 4:0 away win over Lokomotiv Sofia. The specialist once again touched on the subject of his possible new contract, announcing that some people are trying to destroy the atmosphere in the team.

“Congratulations to my players for the clean victory and thanks to the fans for their support. It was not easy to play after the Cup match. Today we played very well, we scored great goals,” began Kerkez.

“The truth is in the speed of strikers. We scored a few goals in the season with transition. We have players who can do that. We are happy that we can score. Today it was important to be calm, to show quality because I believe that at the moment we are better than Lokomotiv,” he continued.

“I’m not a person who will chase records, but I think it’s not the first time he’s set a record this season. It’s a motivation for us to keep working. You have to defend with everyone. The whole team has to work. The goalkeeper and the defenders are done good job,” Kerkez said of the team’s record six-match clean sheet in all competitions.

“I expect a lot of people, not only for the Cup, but also in the two championship games. We want to take the seventh position. I am sure that our fans will help us. It will not be easy. We will play game for game.”

“I am a professional, they will work for every match. We will sit and talk with the management. We have to put the cards on the table. It is not about money. Some people are trying to destroy the atmosphere in the team. I have a good relationship with the president, we talk often. If I don’t stay, it won’t be the end of the world. We have to be professionals and whatever happens, happens,” concluded Botev’s coach.
