Liverpool got their spirits back in the Premier League title race with an important 3-1 win away to Fulham in the Round of 34.

Manager Jurgen Klopp decided to drop from the starting line-up some players he was disappointed with in the previous matches, namely Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunes, Alexis McAllister and Darwin Nunes.

Instead, Quodi Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz acted in forward positions, and this gave results.

The Merseysiders took the lead with a fine free-kick from the recently-returned Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 32nd minute.

At the end of the half, however, Fulham equalized through Timothy Castan, who was on target after a scrum in the penalty area.

In the 53rd minute, Liverpool regained the lead through Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutchman scored with a technical kick from the arc of the penalty for 2:1.

The Merseysiders decided the match in the 72nd minute when Diogo Jota broke through the center and converted with a diagonal strike on the ground.

Thus, Klopp’s team collected 74 points, the same as the leader Arsenal. Manchester City are third with 73, but also a game less. Fulham registered their third defeat in their last four games and are 12th with 42 points.
