Barcelona coach Xavi was furious with the refereeing after his team’s loss in Spain’s biggest game – El Clasico, which ended with a 3-2 victory for Real Madrid. The home side effectively put their rivals out of contention for the title with success once again secured by Jude Bellingham. The Englishman brought the victory to his side in added time, but in reality the match could have gone in a different direction if a guest goal had been scored in the first half. The goal was then disallowed after VAR was consulted as to whether the ball had crossed the goal line with its full volume, but no confirmation was ever shown on television to confirm the referees’ decision.

This is what infuriated Xavi, for whom the visit to the Santiago Bernabeu was the last derby in charge of Barca. The legendary six of the “Blaugranas” leave the coaching post after the end of the season.

“We have to be proud of how we played and how we competed. We deserved the three points and we lost because of things that were out of our control and that’s a shame. Everyone saw what was going on and I don’t want to say things that will get me I can only analyze what happened – and we were better than Madrid,” said the coach of the visitors.

Bellingham, on the other hand, took to social media to voice his opinion on who the winners’ man of the match was. It was Lucas Vazquez, who assisted him for the winning goal in the 91st minute, having previously tied the game at 2:2.

The English international was succinct and wrote on his X profile – “Lucas Vazquez, you’re a fucking legend!”.

Another of the leaders of the capital city, Vinicius, did not fail to get involved in a scandal after the match. The Brazilian winger drew a lot of criticism from Barcelona fans and neutrals alike for a comment that was aimed at one of the visitors’ goalscorers, Fermin Lopez.

The 20-year-old away midfielder put his side ahead in the 69th minute and celebrated his goal in a manner similar to Jude Bellingham’s with outstretched arms.

Vinny Jr. apparently found this amusing, because after the match he responded to a comment on social media with a laughing-through-tears emoji, and then instantly had comments about him having no class and disrespecting his opponents.
