A Czech or a German will be Grigor Dimitrov’s first opponent at the Masters tournament in Madrid starting today.

The Bulgarian is seeded ninth in the main draw and starts directly from the second round of the draw, where he will await the winner of the match between Jakub Menshik and Yanik Hanfman.

Germany’s Hanfmann, ranked No. 58 in the world, met Grissot earlier this year in Miami when he managed to take just one game from the home star and went down 1-6, 0-6.

Although the Czech Republic’s Jakub Menšík is ranked lower at 74th in the world, he is one of the young hopes of world tennis and has produced some impressive results in recent months.

The 18-year-old has yet to face Grisho and could get the chance in Madrid if Menschik can beat Hanfman.

Grigor Dimitrov got into the second part of the scheme, where the highest ranked tennis player is Casper Rudd. Fifth in the main draw and a player who last week played a final in Monte Carlo and took the title in Barcelona.

Grigor may meet Casper Ruud possibly in his third match, and in the quarter-finals a potential obstacle for the Bulgarian is Yanik Siner.

Bulgaria will also have its representative among the ladies, this is our first rocket Viktoria Tomova, who started with a Chinese obstacle in the first round.

Tomova will face world No. 42 Shunyu Wang. Both tennis players have only one match in Madrid in their career, and both lost it.

One of them will be able to achieve a debut victory in the race, and she will give a chance for a match against 21st seed Carolina Garcia in the second round.
