Russian volleyball player, candidate master of sports Arina Mikhailina died at the age of 21. She competed as a member of the Russian youth team and won the national championship in 2018 among girls under 17. In 2019, she took the bronze award at the Spartakiad for students.

According to “Moscow Komsomolets” information, the girl was found near the dormitory building of the Moscow Energy Institute in the southeastern part of the Russian capital yesterday, April 21.


It was initially reported that the still-living girl was found around 9 p.m. Judging by the nature of the injuries, experts assume that the athlete tried to commit suicide.

According to the Baza Telegram channel, some time before her death, the volleyball player corresponded with her boyfriend. The young man noticed that the girl seemed to say goodbye to him. He decided to call an ambulance for her, and then went himself to the MPEI dormitory building where the volleyball player lived.

The first medical team that arrived on the scene determined that the girl did not need help. After examination, she went up to the 16th floor, and was then found lying under the windows.

Then a second medical team takes the girl to the hospital. There she died from injuries incompatible with life.

The All-Russian Volleyball Federation confirmed the death of the young athlete.
