Arsenal ran amok to thrash Chelsea 5-0 in the Premier League’s London derby.
An incredible match for the “gunners”, who not only continue to occupy the first place in the standings, but also achieved one of their loudest victories in the last more than 10 years.
We’re not just talking about the impressive result here, but also about the fact that it was achieved against an opponent like Chelsea, and in an absolutely uncompromising way.
This is the sixth time Arsenal have scored five goals against this opponent. The last time there was a 5:3 in 2011, and all other cases are from several decades back in time.
However, Arsenal failed to equal the record for the greatest success in this rivalry – a humiliating 0:6, which the “gunners” took away from Chelsea ten years ago.
And there were plenty of chances for this to happen, because in the second half there was only one team on the field, and it was the home team.
In the first part, things were not exactly like that. Leandro Trosa put Arsenal ahead in the fourth minute, but Chelsea had plenty of chances to equalize and must surely regret not doing so.

This half ended with a score of 1:0, and already with the beginning of the second part, something in Chelsea was irretrievably broken.
Arsenal began to have fun on the pitch without meeting any opposition and the result was not long in coming.
Ben White doubled in the 52nd and in the 57th and 65th with two goals Kai Havertz punished his former club, going up 4-0.
Another goal from defender Ben White made it 5-0 in the 70th minute and Arsenal had plenty of time to continue humiliating their city rivals.
And there were plenty of chances for that to happen, but a few misses deprived Arsenal of a more emphatic victory.
But it didn’t really matter, because the Gunners took one of their toughest tests until the end of the season in a rather emphatic way.
So in the Premier League, the situation is as follows: Arsenal is the leader with 77 goals, but also with 34 games played. Liverpool has 74 points and 33 games and Manchester City still holds the fate in their hands because they have 73 points but also 32 games.
