Grigor Dimitrov showed that he is in great shape during his last session on the court in Madrid. The Bulgarian held a practice session with former number one Daniil Medvedev, and in the end the two decided to pick up the pace and play a set. In it, our first racket had total supremacy and impressed with his very aggressive position on the return and constant exits to the net, and Medvedev showed why he never passed the third round in the Spanish capital and had serious difficulties to stop the attacks of the world number 10.

The Russian struggled to get his first serve out, but a run of 5 games followed in Dimitrov’s favour, with him having the chance to break his opponent for the third time in a row at 5-1, only to miss a difficult backhand smash and Medvedev gradually found his rhythm are in play, reducing their deficit to 4:5. However, Grigor didn’t let it get to a tie and played an excellent service game that ended with an ace to win this practice set, and we hope he still wins many more competitive ones as the tournament progresses.
