Bulgaria’s first rocket Grigor Dimitrov enters the fourth consecutive tournament of the “Masters 1000” series. This is also the second competition for the 32-year-old Haskovian of the clay season. He should have gained more practice on this surface and acclimatized.

In a potential round of 16, the Bulgarian could have as an opponent the amazing start to the season on clay Casper Ruud, who played in the final in Monte Carlo (where he eliminated Novak Djokovic), but lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas. Only to meet the Greek a few days later in a trophy dispute in Barcelona and get a revenge of sorts.

However, Grigor will again look to progress step by step. He will begin action against either Hanfman or Menschik on Friday, April 26th. That’s when all the second round matches will take place (provided there are no unforeseen changes due to weather conditions).
