Barca take their El Clasico claim to court

--

Four days have passed since Sunday’s El Clasico, but passions have not died down, with refereeing still the main topic of conversation.

Real won the derby 3-2 and effectively secured the title in Spain, but Jude Bellingham’s last-minute winner was preceded by several controversial situations that Barcelona have their own claim to.

One claim is for the penalty with which Real equalized the score in the first half, and the other claim is for an alleged goal for 2:1 in favor of the Catalans, which was not counted.

After a cross from a corner, Lamin Yamal deflected the ball, which goalkeeper Lunin deflected somewhere behind the goal line. However, it is not clear whether the ball crosses the goal line with all its volume, and during the match itself, the judgment was that there was no goal.

Barcelona naturally appealed the decision, with club president Joan Laporta receiving an invitation to a meeting with the Refereeing Commission, where the situation will be re-examined.

Barcelona want to see all the footage that the referees behind the VAR system had at their disposal, and also to hear the audio recordings of the conversations held around the controversial situation.

Such a thing is said to have been refused by the federation and will be refused by the refereeing commission, prompting the Catalans to seek their rights in court.

If the Barca chiefs are truly convinced that there was a mistake in the situation that the referees missed, they will claim in court that El Clasico be replayed.

This will not be a precedent because in Belgium there has already been a replay of a match after an obvious and obvious error by the VAR system.

In England, there was also a scandalous case of a mistake during a match between Liverpool and Tottenham, but after that case there were no consequences.

Taking the case of a football match to court is not something new for Spain, after in the last year Cadiz and Espanyol turned to the judicial system for clear errors of the VAR system, which they say were made on purpose.
