Stoycho Mladenov to Darik and dsport about the new management of BFS, the quality of the championship and the new stadium of CSKA

The former head coach of CSKA Stoycho Mladenov no longer performs an active coaching function in Bulgarian football, but closely follows the processes related to it.

He gave an exclusive interview to Darik radio and dsport on the eve of the season’s last derby between CSKA and Levski, and apart from the upcoming match, he also commented on some more global topics affecting Bulgarian football.

The former coach of CSKA shared his opinion about the quality of the championship in connection with the fact that last season the battle for the title was until the last round and in general it is noticeable that in recent years the gap between Ludogorets and its pursuers has decreased: “I can say that in the last 3 years, not that others have reached Ludogorets, but on the contrary, Ludogorets has reached them, lowering the level to the other contenders who follow him in second, third and fourth place”.

Mladenov also commented on the new leadership of the Bulgarian Football Union: “I personally was extremely surprised and disappointed by the football clubs, so-called professional and amateur clubs, who had the opportunity to vote, attend the Congress and give their vote, that they did not bet on Berbatov , Stilijan and Martin, to people who have proven themselves on a global scale and are recognized worldwide, recognizable more precisely. People who for many years studied and prepared to take on the role of managing Bulgarian football. Very few clubs bet on them. The majority bet on Gonzo, whom I know very well. I was his coach, I also know his father, we played together in the national team. An extremely great leader, an educated person, intelligent, I hope he succeeds, I wish him so with all my heart. Hopefully he will be a leader in the football union, as he was a leader in every team where he was as a player. To prevail over everything else, because everything in Bulgarian football has to be shaken up there so that we can stand on a solid foundation and grow in every respect. Starting in this arrangement, for the infrastructure of all clubs and stadiums, this is extremely pressing and urgent to fix.”

The topic of the construction of CSKA’s new stadium was also not overlooked: “Not only for CSKA, it is important for all clubs to have new and modern stadiums, with good infrastructure, especially pitches for the children’s and youth school, and not only in this, but in every respect. Especially in CSKA, things have slowed down, I have no clear idea for what reason. We have been talking about a new stadium for so many years. We neglected our desire for a title, which is unusual for a club like CSKA, so I don’t think that the stadium, that we are building or will build, has prevented us from being champions. In all these years we did not become champions because of one simple thing, the club was run unprofessionally, by unprofessionals I would say. Such conditions were created for each coach that he would not become a champion”.
