Big show and eight goals at the “Ivaylo” stadium on the occasion of 100 years of Eter (Veliko Tarnovo)

A true football spectacle was created by the star teams of Eter and Bulgaria, who met on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of the “boyars”. Spectators at Ivaylo Stadium witnessed great performances from players who recalled their best years during their competitive careers.

The national team of Bulgaria, whose captain was Hristo Stoichkov, recorded a definite success with 7:1. The team decided everything in its favor already in the first half, when it had a lead of four unanswered goals, thanks to Doncho Donev (4″), Martin Kamburov (22″, 28″) and Emil Kostadinov (28″).

After the break, Petar Mihtarski (44′), Daniel Borimirov (49′) and Stanislav Angelov (52′) also scored for the legends of Bulgaria, while Ivan Petkov scored the only goal for the “violets” in the 41st minute.

In the fourth minute, Doncho Donev received a great pass from Martin Kamburov, with which he was brought face to face with Kaloyan Chakarov. Donev advanced with the ball and technically transferred the guard to the “boylars”.

After that, the meeting was interrupted in memory of the late Trifon Ivanov.

In the eighth minute, Stanislav Angelov found Martin Kamburov in an excellent way, who coolly overcame Chakarov and scored in the empty goal, thus doubling the lead of his team.

Shortly before a quarter of an hour had passed since the start of the match, Krasimir Balakov was able to return a goal for the “boylars”. The captain of the team, led by Georgi Vasilev, shot with his right foot around the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went wide of the right side post.

In the 15th minute, Radostin Stanev distinguished himself with a wonderful intervention after a dangerous shot by Todor Kolev from close range. In the 19th, Doncho Donev attempted an acrobatic side-scissor that hit the outside of the net.

60 seconds later, Balakov made a great individual breakthrough, but Stanev again proved to be the last obstacle in front of the goal.

In the 22nd minute, the “Stars of Bulgaria” team organized a perfect counterattack, which was successfully completed by Martin Kamburov and the classic result was formed.

At the end of the first half, Stoichkov brought Emil Kostadinov to a shooting position, and he reminded of his best years and with a nice shot went up to 4:0.

Already in the opening minutes of the second half, Doncho Donev missed an excellent opportunity to score his second goal of the match. In the 35th minute, Bozhinov scored, but his goal was disallowed due to an ambush.

In the 41st minute, Ivan Petkov reduced the deficit of the “violets” after he headed a cross from the right flank and hit the opponent’s goal.

Only three later, however, the “Stars of Bulgaria” again restored their four-goal lead. Petar Mihtarski also recorded his name among the scorers, scoring with a cannonball shot in the upper left corner.

In the 49th minute, Krasimir Balakov crossed to Daniel Borimirov, who also hit the net of Eters – 6:1.

The pressure of the players, led by Ventsislav Rangelov, continued and 180 seconds later, Stanislav Angelov made the result even more expressive.
