Georgi Milanov: The match with CSKA is a turning point for Levski, I would return if one day I have this opportunity – BG Football – efbet Liga

Dinamo Bucharest midfielder and former Levski footballer Georgi Milanov spoke to DIEMA SPORT about the upcoming derby against CSKA. The favorite of the “blues” fans is of the opinion that this match will be a turning point for Nikolay Kostov’s team. He also shared that he may wear the blue shirt again in the future.

“As a big fan of Levski and part of the derby quite a few times in recent years, I would say that this is a match that cannot be described in words, but must be felt. I am proud to have had the opportunity to play in such a derby and in one of the best periods for our club. Ever since I left Levski, I always try to follow the team. In the last match, there were many things outside of football , which made a bad impression on me. I hope that these things will not be there during this derby,” began Milanov.

“I expect Levski to play a much better game than the last one. Then they didn’t have an accurate shot, which was a pity especially for the supporters, who were more than 20 thousand. Now with the recovery of some key players, I hope the face of the team is quite better. This game is more important for our club, because we are chasing the goal of Europe. I hope this will bring back the confidence of the players, because in the last month they have not been playing at their best a lot of losses. I hope this match is a turning point and they qualify for Europe. It is vital for Levski to play in Europe,” continued the Dinamo Bucharest midfielder.

“It’s unpleasant for every fan to watch the team play like this against the three leading teams. I don’t want to get into analysis, I’m far from the kitchen. I don’t know what the reasons are. The fact is that a lot of football players were absent. I hope Levski comes out from this mini crisis he’s in. I’m sure the fans will support them too.”

“I know Plamen Andreev. He established himself under Mr. Stanimir Stoilov. I know how difficult it was for him at the beginning. He became a leading figure, played with greater self-confidence. Maybe then the team was different, we played better in defense. This is a young boy with great potential. I wish him and Ivan success. They are the future of Levski”, continued Milanov.

“From the point of view that two weeks ago we lost the game in a painful way, I hope this will spur them on and this is the right time for a return. I am sure they will come out with more desire to win. As long as there is a mathematical chance, Levski should to fight for the fourth place, even for the third place. Maybe this game will be a turning point for the season. If they can win it, they will come out with more confidence. If the game does not end in the best way, I think that Levski will have a very difficult time reaching the playoffs”.

“As a fan, I follow the team, I’m happy when they win, I get angry when they lose. Even if I’m not at the club, I’ll always love him and wish him the best. The difference (b.a. with the team that won the Cup ) is quite big both in terms of style and as players. Our team had much better players than the current team. I see a lot of potential in this team because they are young players and they have a future. The coach is trying to impose his style on a game with a lot of passes, which is very good. Unfortunately, in big matches, some players cannot handle the pressure and therefore cannot get the desired result”.

“What can I say about the fans? They showed it also in the last derby that they are the 12th player and are behind the team. It is unpleasant for me when there is a split and a boycott. I hope for the next game everyone will support the team. When I was in Levski, we were all one – team, coach, management and fans. Maybe that’s what I’m missing at the moment in Levski. We were together and the results were always in our favor,” he continued.

“I’m far from Levski. I know some of the players, but there are new players who I don’t know what kind of character they have and what kind of personalities they are. The players who were years ago have shown that they have self-confidence and know how to play under pressure “I can’t comment on the new players. If the coach has said it, then we, who are outside the kitchen, don’t know.”

“I have been a fan of Levski since I was little. My career developed in a different way, but I told myself that if I was given the opportunity to play in Levski, I would do it. I came at the most difficult moment in the history of the club. It was full mess in the club. I was not afraid to try and I made it. The support of the fans for this year and a half became even bigger the club, I just didn’t say it. I wanted people to remember me as good on the field, and I think I did. When I’m off the field, I also wanted to be remembered as a good person, and I think I kept my word I’m off the pitch. I love Levski and I couldn’t betray the fans, that’s why I will always wish the best for Levski. I may wear the blue shirt again in the future.”

“In football everything is possible. Now I am focused on the relegation of Dinamo Bucharest. If I have the opportunity one day, I would always wear the blue shirt”.

“The most emotional moment for me in Levski is when I got injured against Botev Vratsa, and then I came back in one control just before the championship. I think we played with Pirin. Mr. Stoilov let me go for 10-15 minutes. Then I felt the love of the fans. The whole stadium stood up and sang my name. That moment will always be in my heart. Winning the Cup will be remembered for years match for the last 20 years. I will always remember these two moments,” Milanov said.

“Whenever I hear about the fans, I’m in a good mood. I’m part of them right now. They prove that they always fill the stadiums. Levski fans are everywhere. I’m sure they will support the team everywhere. Levski is more than a club. I’m sick with the predictions. I will be happy and keep my fingers crossed that Levski will win 2:0”, concluded Georgi Milanov.
