Manchester United manager Erik ten Haag took another step in the right direction after a 1-0 win over Leicester, which was the team’s third in a row. However, he added that this is far from the maximum that the Red Devils are capable of and added that the team will become much better if certain players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro get in the right shape.
“This is another step forward. But we still have a long way to go. We will be even better when Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro are 100 percent ready,” Ten Haag was quoted as saying by BTA.
“We need not only a team on the field, but a complete squad where everyone is ready to replace those on the pitch. We are currently building a team where the players will fit each other. I can see them fighting for each other , cooperate. This is something to build on,” added the Dutchman.
He reiterated that he was not surprised by the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo remained in the team and said that the Portuguese will play an important role in the future, despite starting from the bench in four of the first five games of the season.
“If Cristiano wasn’t happy, he wouldn’t be here,” Ten Haag concluded.
