The end of the Japanese curse for Pirin – Pirin Blagoevgrad

Pirin Blagoevgrad achieved an important victory with 2:1 against Botev Vratsa in the first match of the ninth round of the First League, thus ending an extremely curious negative streak.

The “Eagles” did not have success when either of the two Japanese in the team – Kazuki Takahashi and Yuki Yaizo – were on the field.

Takahashi made his debut in the 3-0 defeat by Levski in Blagoevgrad last season, followed by losses against Tsarsko Selo, Lokomotiv Sofia, Botev Vratsa, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Slavia, Cherno More and Ludogorets, as well as draws against CSKA 1948, Spartak Varna and Heber.

Aizo, who has a much more peripheral role, played in losses against Lokomotiv Sofia, Botev Vratsa, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Levski, Chernomore and Ludogorets. When he was on the field, Pirin did not win a single point.

In the match against Botev Vratsa, Kazuki Takahashi appeared in the game in the 73rd minute, replacing Krasimir Stanoev, who scored the winning goal five minutes earlier.
