Ludogorets wrote “excellent” to the rookie Heber

Ludogorets defeated the visiting Heber 6:0 in Razgrad in a meeting of the ninth round of the Bulgarian football championship.

It was only the second home game for Ante Shimunja’s men in the league and they showed their superiority over the newcomer with four goals in the first half and a further two in the second.

Spas Delev was the only one to score twice for the winners, while Ivan Yordanov, Rick Jonathan, Bernard Tekpetei and Kiril Despodov added one each. The success comes four days before the big home match with Roma, which will start the group phase in the Europa League for the people of Zagreb.

The 11-time champions climbed to second place in the standings with 19 points, one behind leaders CSKA 1948, but also with three games less played. Heber suffered its sixth loss and is 13th with seven points.

The “Eagles” helped themselves with a goal after only four minutes of play, when the club’s teenager Ivan Yordanov scored on the volley after a badly beaten ball by the goalkeeper Petar Deberliev. For the 21-year-old Yordanov, it was his first goal with the team from Razgrad and a very special moment for him.

The second goal of the people of Razgrad came in the 27th minute, and it was the longest interval without a goal in the match. Rick Jonathan scored after a nice pass between Bernard Tekpetei’s defenders. It was the second goal for the Brazilian with the Ludogorets team, the first coming in another home rout – over Spartak Varna with 5:0.

The third to score against Heber was Tekpetei in the 37th minute. He received a very long pass from the defense and waited for the ball before volleying it unsaveably to make it 3-0.

The most beautiful goal for the hosts fell in the 44th minute, and its author was Spas Delev. The former Arda striker was on target with a perfectly executed free kick.

Ludogorets did not spare his opponent in the second half either, scoring in the third minute. Kiril Despodov made a double pass before passing on the ground to the goalkeeper’s field, where Delev intercepted and scored for the second time – 5:0. Before this match, Delev had only one goal for Razgrad.

Bulgaria’s No. 1 footballer Despodov also found time to be among the top scorers. In the 61st minute, the score became 6-0 when he scored from an easy position, assisted this time by Delev, who returned the gesture.
