Chelsea and Everton finished 2:2 in a match of the 28th round of the Premier League. The goals for the hosts were the work of João Felix and Kai Havertz, and for the “caramels” Abdoulaye Doucure and Ellis Sims were accurate. With this draw, Chelsea remain in 10th position with 38 points on their account, while Everton are now 15th with 26 points on their account.

The first serious chance of the game came in the 5th minute when Mateo Kovacic attacked a rebound from the edge of the penalty area, but his volley flew wide of Everton’s left-hand post. In the following minutes, Chelsea had the better situations and controlled the ball more, but were unable to create clear scoring chances.

In the 34th minute, Joao Felix received a good pass in the penalty area and attempted a right-footed shot, although several opposing players tried to block, Jordan Pickford had to make a routine save.

Until the end of the first half, Chelsea continued to possess the ball, try attacks through the middle, with Joao Felix the most active player for the “blues”, but the clear opportunities were absent.

The second half started well for the Blues as Kai Havertz was found in the box and headed home from a clear position, but Jordan Pickford reacted brilliantly to clear the ball wide. In the 53rd minute, Joao Felix controlled a deflected ball on the edge of the penalty area and attempted a precise shot that bounced off Pickford’s left post and flew into the Everton net – 1:0 to Chelsea.

In the 69th minute, Everton took a corner from the right side of the field, where James Tarkowski rose and deflected the ball, and Abdoulaye Doukoure was just waiting to put the ball into the Chelsea net – 1:1.

Just five minutes later, Reece James was fouled in the opposition penalty area and the referee did not hesitate to point to the penalty spot. Kai Havertz shouldered the performance and performed coolly, sending Georgean Pickford into the opposite corner – 2:1 for Chelsea.

In the 82nd minute, Dwight McNeill controlled well and advanced, then attempted a diagonal shot that was off target and went wide of Kepa’s left side post. In the 90th minute, Ellis Sims took control and Kalidou Koulibaly committed a blunder which allowed the striker to enter the penalty area and fire a shot from a good position, with Kepa unable to react well enough to make it 2-2.

That was all the more interesting about the clash, with Chelsea and Everton sharing the points after a spectacular 2-2 draw.
