Former US President Donald Trump said he will be arrested on March 21 on “old and completely debunked” charges. He did this on his own social network, Truth Social.
According to Trump, he learned this from a leak from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. “Illegitimate leaks from…the Manhattan District Attorney’s office…indicate that despite unproven guilt, based on old and completely debunked allegations by numerous other prosecutors,…the former President of the United States of America will be taken into custody next week on Tuesday,” he wrote Trump called for a protest.

House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy also weighed in, saying the New York prosecutor’s office was abusing its powers in an attempt to settle political scores with Trump.
“It happens again, outrageous abuse by a radicalized District Attorney letting dangerous criminals go free in an attempt to settle political scores with (former) President Trump,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter.
The leader of the House of Representatives, who holds the third most important position in the US, intends to instruct the appropriate committees in Congress to “immediately begin an investigation” into whether the state’s public funds are being used to undermine American democracy through election interference and politically motivated prosecutions.
