The first Bulgarian ventriloquist, Dimitar Ivanov – Kapitana, winner of the 2022 comedian award, premiered his art live in Pleven. In his program, the guest stand-up comedian also showed his ability to speak in different voices without opening his mouth and infectious for small and large sketches.
His partners during the cheerful performance were young families with their children, as well as the popular Bai Tanyo doll. The performer revealed to BTA that he is currently the only ventriloquist in Bulgaria.
“I’ve been a professional puppeteer since 2008, but I was offered ventrology four years ago and that’s how I started. It can be said that from ancient times, from the Middle Ages, there were people who used this way of speaking to pretend to talk to the dead. I took special courses. Ventrology itself is not that difficult, but you have to be very persistent to practice this skill of yours,” said the actor. “People are interested to see live how someone can talk without moving their mouth. I rely on the dialogue with the doll. I have two tours at the moment which keep me busy with a lot of fan meetings. At the same time, we have a baby in my family and I need time to sleep and rest,” added my interlocutor.
Dimitar Ivanov – Captain said that he works a lot and that he does not hope to give a performance in Hall 1 of the NDK in Sofia again in November – for the second time. “I’m preparing it now. There are three working titles. I am the author, but I will not publish more. That’s a good thing about stand-up comedy, that you write your own text and act it out,” added Dimitar Ivanov.
His performance on the open stage “Panorama mall Pleven” today had free entry and radiated a lot of positive energy. It captivated the children’s audience and parents. The guest masterfully spoke as a ventriloquist, demonstrating different voices in dialogue between a man and a woman who had the courage to step out of the audience and participate with the ventriloquist. The actor’s wish to the young families watching him was to have children, to enjoy their children, because that is the beauty of life.
Georgi Stoyanov, one of the organizers of the show, revealed to BTA that next Saturday – March 25, they are preparing a new and different performance with the artist Diyan Pavlov – Jimmy, who has created a unique “O’ Pismenekh Workshop!” to tell in a fascinating way and an attractive way for human civilization.
