Krasimir Kamenov-Kuro and his wife were killed today in Cape Town, South Africa, BNT reports, citing its sources. According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are also two more killed, who are supposed to be Bulgarian citizens. There is no official information on the identity of the victims yet. The police in the South African city reported that the four dead were two men and two women between the ages of 40 and 50.
Kamenov is wanted by Interpol on charges of extortion, threats to kill and murder. He was also accused in absentia of being a guarantor of the murder of former MIA employee Lyubomir Ivanov, who was shot dead in Sofia at the beginning of 2022. Then the state prosecution announced that Kamenov’s likely location was in South Africa.
In March of this year, the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev announced that Krasimir Kamenov-Kuro was part of a conspiracy to assassinate the state prosecutor. Audio recordings of conversations of unknown origin and notes mentioning the name of criminal manifestations were also distributed. Today, the chief prosecutor commented that “we are returning to the Mutren years”.
Krasimir Kamenov-Kuro is connected to the VIS-2 force group and to the wanted Christophoros Amanatidis-Taki. Kuro is also the owner of the vegetable market “Kura” in the capital’s Slatina district, where drugs have been seized several times.
