Yantra Gabrovo head coach Velislav Vutsov underwent emergency surgery on Wednesday (24 May), just a day before his team’s visit to Sportist Svoge in the 32nd round of the Second League, the club announced.
Vutsov announced the surgical intervention of his players during training on Tuesday, and after the operation was successful, the coach received special permission to lead his team in the match.
In the end, Yantra Gabrovo won with the minimum 1:0, and after the match, the team thanked their coach and pointed to him as an “absolute example for all young specialists”.
“I haven’t slept because of worry in the last two days that things might not go as they should in the matches with Sportist and Belasitsa”, commented Vili Vutsov himself after the match.
FC Yantra Gabrovo also announced that Vutsov did not follow the doctor’s recommendations not to be upright during the match in Svoge and added that after the match the head coach returned to the clinic in Pleven.
