The prosecutor’s office in Ruse has started an investigation due to suspicions of criminal negligence, which led to the death of a 29-year-old woman in labor at the local “Kanev” UMBAL.
A prosecutor’s file was established for causing the death of another person, due to negligent performance of an occupation representing a source of increased danger. All persons involved in the case will be questioned. All documentation will be requested from the medical facility and an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The husband of the woman in labor blames the staff of the AG-department for that did not pay attention to his wife’s complaints and that they left her without medical care.
The birth mother had sent multiple messages to her husband the night before she died, saying that she is in severe pain, “collapsed three times” and that “the nurse snores”instead of monitoring her condition after C-section.
The hospital informed the man that he had lost his wife to a “pulmonary embolism” without an autopsy being performed on her. His team announced that they “pulled the trigger”.
The director of “Kanev” UMBAL Ivan Ivanov states that they have started an internal inspection, and they will be inspected separately by “Medical Audit”.
Results should be out within 20 days.
