After their elimination from the MLS playoffs Inter Miami announced a short tour to China where they were to play two friendly matches against local teams.
“Herons” of Lionel Messi however, they encountered a setback in this regard: the expedition was officially canceled and the team will remain in the United States.
Miami has officially confirmed that the China tour has been cancelled
A brief statement on the club’s website read: “The tour promoter, NSN, has informed Inter Miami of the cancellation of the China tour due to unforeseen circumstances in China. Inter Miami’s ambition remains to expand its global reach by playing in front of incredible fans from around the world. The club will continue to explore future opportunities with NSN to achieve this goal.”
The statement made it clear that the decision was beyond the authority of Inter Miami. NSN added, expressing “regret” and saying the cancellation was due to the recent death of former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. And earlier there was information that Inter Miami was learning Spanish because of Messi.
