Next year, a dollar will cost an average of 40.7 hryvnias
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for the second reading the draft state budget for 2024. According to the updated government forecast, next year the dollar will cost an average of 40.7 hryvnias.
As reported in the note, the forecasts for 2024 have been adjusted to a downward trend in consumer inflation – from 10.8% to 9.7% (from December to December of the previous year).
“The clarification was made against the background of changes in assumptions about the hryvnia exchange rate – on average for the year 40.7 hryvnias per dollar until the second reading compared to 41.4 hryvnias per dollar in the previous forecast,” the document says.
According to him, at the end of next year, the expected exchange rate is 42.1 hryvnias per dollar, before that it was at the level of 44.2.
Also, the government expects that at the end of this year, the exchange rate will be 38.6 UAH per dollar, instead of 40.2, which was predicted in the first reading.
Expectation of the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine
According to experts, the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine in November 2023 will fluctuate between 37.6-38.2 hryvnias per dollar.
At the same time next week (November 6-12), experts believe, it is unlikely that there will be a sharp change in exchange rates both on the interbank and on the cash market.
It is noted that the corridor of expected (possible) fluctuations on the non-cash market will remain similar to last week: 36.4-36.7 UAH/$ and 38.5-38.8 UAH/€. Gotivkoviy rynok will remain on already established positions: the exchange rate will be in the corridor of 37.5-38.5 UAH/$ and 39-42 UAH/€.
