Certainly one of the stars in the current season for Fenerbahçe is midfielder Fred, who moved to the Turkish giants in the summer from Manchester United.
The 30-year-old Brazilian has been a key figure in Ismail Kartal’s squad this season, having played in absolutely every game since arriving at the Şükru Saraçoğlu Stadium. Fred managed to account for 6 assists in 15 games for the team.
However, he is now one of the transfer targets of Newcastle United, who are without Sandro Tonali, who was banned for 10 months for illegal betting. It is because of this that the “magpies” will urgently want to strengthen themselves with another midfielder in the winter, with the options being Fred and Ruben Neves.
The Brazilian spent 5 seasons in the Premier League with Manchester United before joining Fenerbahce in the summer for a fee of £13m.
The Fenerbahce do not want to part with Fred and that is why the Turkish club have set a price of £25m if Newcastle want to sign him in January.
