The first hearing in the proceedings for discrimination against the leader of ITN Slavi Trifonov and his company “Sedem-Osmi” JSC is scheduled for November 8. This is clear from the register of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination (CPR).
The reason for the complaint is “Song for Lena”, which was released on social networks and party TV “7/8” in February. In it, the main character is Lena Borislavova – former chief of staff of Kiril Petkov while he was prime minister.
However, the complaint to the KZD was not filed by Lena Borislavova, but by Genoveva Tisheva. Tisheva, who is a lawyer, is currently serving her second term as a member of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.
Trifonov himself was the first to announce the proceedings before the Criminal Procedure Code in the podcast of the rapper Yonislav Yotov-Toto.
“The writers brought me the lyrics and said, ‘Look at this song, it could be a problem’. It happened before New Year’s. I told them, ‘Guys, this is kind of dumb, we’re not going to play it, you can do something cooler. But 2 months passed and they came again, they also made a video. They told me: “We made a music video for that song that you said was stupid, and Evgeni Dimitrov made the music for us,” Trifonov said.
