This Sunday night we will empathize with the personal tragedy of an emergency room doctor who is forced to step into the role of an avenger. Director Eli Roth’s exciting film is a modern adaptation of Brian Garfield’s 1972 novel of the same name “Death Wish” and a remake of the beloved film classic with Charles Bronson (known in our country as “Death Wish”) about a Chicago doctor who takes justice into his own hands after his wife and daughter are brutally attacked in their home while he is at work.
The plot meets a surgeon who works in the emergency room of a Chicago hospital, where he sees the end result of the violence that spreads on the streets of the city on a daily basis. The police, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of crime, are unable to solve the case of Dr. Paul Kersey’s family being attacked in their home. In order to get justice, Paul is forced to track down and avenge the attackers himself, taking justice into his own hands. When the anonymous killing of criminals attracts media attention, people begin to wonder if the deadly avenger is a guardian angel who helps ordinary people protect themselves from criminals. Willis’ character becomes a character with two faces: saving lives and taking lives. A husband and father caring for his daughter and an avenger fighting crime in the big city. Will the hero be able to avenge his family?
Hollywood star Bruce Willis is joined in the film by Oscar-winning actress Elizabeth Shue as his wife and Camilla Moron as his daughter Jordan.
