The heavy rain and the storm today created a complicated situation on the territory of the Municipality of Sliven. Wind gusts reached 100 km/h, and according to data from the observatory in Sliven, the amount of precipitation until 2 p.m. was about 12 liters per square meter. There were flooded sections of streets, and the flow of cars caused traffic jams in parts of the city as drivers navigated flooded thoroughfares.
The villages of Staro selo, Mladovo, Nikolaevo, Kermen, Villa zone-Sliven, Glushnik, Blatec and others are without electricity. Emergency teams of the “Electrical Distribution Company” are working to eliminate the accidents.
The Municipality of Sliven maintains constant contact with the mayors of these places and is ready to assist with additional teams if necessary.
Additional teams were brought in to clear broken branches and trees, as well as to eliminate the danger to passing people and cars. Constant coordination with the fire department operations center is maintained.
There is no information about people injured by the storm.
