The incident happened this afternoon when entering the village of Zhaltesh from Gabrovo. The car has flipped onto its roof. Traffic remains closed due to an investigation and determination of the exact causes of the accident.

A driver died after hitting a car on the road between Gorna Oryahovitsa and the village of Kozarevetsand traffic between Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse near the village of Polikraishte has been stopped due to a collision between two trucks, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (ODMVR) – Veliko Tarnovo reported to BTA.

A collision between a car and a bus also occurred on one of the oldest bridges in Bulgaria. The accident happened on the highest part of the Kadin Bridge, built over the Struma River in the village of Nevestino.
The “Traffic Police” calls on road users to adapt their behavior to the weather conditions due to the complicated weather situation in some parts of the country, the Ministry of the Interior announced. It is still raining in many places in the western part of Bulgaria, and a strong wind is blowing in the eastern part, which is a prerequisite for branches falling on the roadways. The appeal to the drivers of road vehicles is to reduce their speed and ensure a greater distance to other road users.

Kadin Bridge was built in 1470. It is about 100 meters long and 5 meters wide. In 2021, the bridge was renovated. The asphalt layer was removed and cobblestones were laid with the idea of making the bridge pedestrian. After an outcry from the local population, paving stones were laid on the bridge and motor vehicle traffic was restored. A problem in crossing the Kadin bridge is the lack of visibility in its high part, drivers comment.
