The popular young pop artist A.LEKS and the incredible Maya and Plamen Kovachevi – known as the duo WEIL will be among the special guests at the anniversary concert of the DVG “Singing Kittens” on November 5, 2023 at the House of Culture “Boris Hristov”. The Plovdiv vocal group celebrates 25 years since its foundation.
Alex Georgiev is one of the discoveries about the music of the composer Nevena Kyuchukova. He was one of the first members of the vocal formation when he was 5 years old. Since then, he has conquered with charisma and magnetism, and there is no competition from which he has not returned with first prize. At the age of 8, he was the first soloist of Big Band Plovdiv. At the age of 15, he won his first project, produced entirely in Great Britain. Plays piano, guitar and drums. He specialized in composing and producing at one of the most prestigious music institutes, BIMM, where he studied with mentors who worked with Queen, Prince, Michael Jackson and others. After returning from Great Britain, he became one of the finalists of “The Voice of Bulgaria”. More remarkable successes followed in his musical career. He won the first places in the BNR TOP 20 chart with his author’s singles “High” and “Shivers”. At the “Singing Kittens” concert, Alex will perform original singles.
Special guests will be the wonderful duo “Weil” together with two wonderful grown-up “Singing Kittens” Nicolet Kovacheva and Ekaterina Spasova. Nicolet is the daughter of Maya and Plamen Kovachevi and is a student at NUMTI “Dobrin Petkov”. She plays the classical guitar and is the recipient of many international awards. From the vocal group, they are friends with Katya, who studies at SU “St. Patriarch Euthymius” and music continues to rule her heart. The two grown-up “Singing Kittens” together with the magnificent musicians from the duo “Weil” have prepared a surprise for the audience with much love and dedication. They will take the stage and enthrall music lovers with their performances.
Also taking part in the concert will be more grown-up “Singing Kittens”, who are currently graduates of the Plovdiv Music School, AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamaniev”, as well as stars of the music and dance arts related to the creative path of Nevena Kyuchukova. They will congratulate the small performers on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Plovdiv vocal formation. Among the young talents are Mihail Atanasov from the percussion class at NUMTI “Dobrin Petkov”, 17-year-old Iva Ichevska, who, despite her interests in the exact sciences and having won a scholarship to the American University, continues to sing and delight her fans. The young talents of the Plovdiv Music Hall Theater will also dance at the “Singing Kittens” concert, whose choreographer, Ani Dimitrova, was also a member of the vocal group in her childhood.
Together with the “Singing Kittens” dance formations of five kindergartens from Plovdiv will perform on the stage of the House of Culture “Boris Hristov”. The children’s show will start at 11 a.m. on November 5, 2023, and the program provides a lot of fun and surprises for music lovers.
