Three machines did not start in the second round today – in sections in Dobrich, in the municipality of Varna and in Veliko Tarnovo. Another device in a section in Varna stopped working shortly after the start of election day – at 7:08 am. This became clear during today’s meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

The problem with the first device in Varna is that its ballot printer is not working. In Dobrich, the problem is with the machine’s flash drives. In the section in Veliko Tarnovo, the machine did not start due to a software problem. Voting in these sections continues with paper ballots.

There is also a problem with a machine in the village of Vladimirovo, as reported by the Municipal Election Commission in Boychinovtsi. The chairman of the sectional election commission says that the voter voted for a certain candidate, and another one appeared in the receipt. The CEC believes that there are no prerequisites for suspending machine voting there.

Election day has started normally, there are no unopened sections. In some places in the country, there are problems with the power supply, but the machines are switched on because they are on batteries, said CEC member Sevinch Solakova.
