The Kazanlak association “Youth Center for Development – Mutual Aid” is celebrating its 19th anniversary today, its chairman, Eng. Maria Slavova, told BTA. On the occasion of its birthday, the organization will traditionally plant trees in the “Green Europe” ecocenter in the village of Srednogorovo. The initiative will be implemented under the “Eco 2” project of the “European Solidarity Corps” program, and the volunteers of the “United Vanguard Artist” association under the “Green Missions 2” project will also be involved.
According to the project, the International Youth Day was also celebrated through activities in the city of Pernik, where the organization presented its activities, Slavova pointed out. “Outdoor and indoor tournaments in table tennis, archery, darts have started and are coming, and part of the equipment was purchased under the Green Game project of the Erasmus+ program of the United Vanguard Artist association,” she said. also marking important dates in the field of ecology such as International Wetlands Day, energy efficiency, water and Earth.
Association “Youth Center for Development – Mutual Aid” is a national non-governmental organization with headquarters in Kazanlak, which creates youth policies at the national and regional level, noted Maria Slavova. At the moment, for the year 2023 – 2024, three trainings for youth workers and one youth exchange under the Erasmus program have been approved under the names “Ecofuture”, “Sculptors of ideas 2”, “Sculptors of media 2” and “SOS 2”. A project to welcome volunteers with three activities – “Ecoenergy”, “Ecoenergy +” and “Ecoenergy 2” under the “European Solidarity Corps” program will also be implemented, she said.
The chairman of the association also pointed out that this is the only organization in Bulgaria that created a wall of volunteering in Kazanlak and implemented the “Caps for Kazanlak” campaign, as well as one of the first organizations in Bulgaria that welcomed international volunteers under the “Youth in Action” programs. Erasmus+” and “European Solidarity Corps”.
The association has also been the organizer of the cleaning of the Koprinka dam for the past 12 years, and currently the organization has a quality mark and accreditation from Brussels under two European programs – “Erasmus+” and “European Solidarity Corps”, the chairman reminded.
