Procedural-investigative actions were carried out as a matter of urgency in connection with received operational information about possible crimes related to the electoral legislation.
Criminologists from the regional directorate in Shumen and their colleagues from RU-Novi Pazar have taken action after analyzing the acquired information and instructions from the prosecutor on duty. During searches of three addresses in Pliska, sums of money and objects of cultural and historical value were found and seized. At one of the addresses, nearly 35,000 BGN and over 2,000 euros were seized, the origin of which is currently unknown.
A sum of BGN 2,500 was found and seized in another property. More than 120 objects with the appearance of cultural and historical values were seized, including coins, belt appliqués, a medieval seal with an animal image, arrowheads, rings with open rings, parts of medieval clothing and a medieval knife. Expertises will establish the dating of the objects. A metal detector was also found and included in the pre-trial proceedings.
Work on the initiated proceedings continues under the guidance of the competent prosecutor’s offices.
